The Center was established to identify and develop legal policies and practices that will help to alleviate the harms cause by FASD. The Center does so by:

Analyzing recurring legal issues related to FASD in light of existing medical knowledge.
Identifying changes in legal policies and practice necessary to respond appropriately to FASD.
Disseminating this information to individuals with FASD and their parents and advocates, and to lawyers, judges, and other professionals involved in the administration of existing programs and of the legal system.
